New Horizons in HTA:
From Innovation to Incorporation
Welcome!
It is with great pleasure that we announce the fifth edition of the Meeting of the Brazilian Network for Health Technology Assessment REBRATS. This year's event centers around the theme ”New Horizons in HTA: From Innovation to incorporation“, highlights the latest trends and challenges in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in a context of growing innovation.
This edition, held in collaboration with the international HealthTechScan (iHTS), aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences between national and international experts and to push the boundaries of knowledge and practice in the field.
The Director of the Department of Management and Incorporation of Health Technologies of the Ministry of Health (DGITS/SECTICS/MS), that serves as the Executive-Secretary of the REBRATS, emphasizes the significance of the Network in the country and the goals of this Congress:
Luciene Schluckebier Fontes Bonan
Diretora do Departamento de Gestão e Incorporação de Tecnologias em Saúde (DGITS/SECTICS/MS)
The theme underscores the significance of technological evolution in today's health systems. In this context, HTA is crucial for guiding health decision-making. The program enables discussions of both the opportunities and challenges that arise throughout the life cycle of new technologies, including evaluation methods, regulatory challenges, and economic impacts.
REBRATS is essential for the evaluation of new technologies within the SUS, having 117 Health Technology Assessment Units (NATS) distributed across all regions of the country and more than 900 members. The network's work ensures that technological innovations are rigorously assessed, guaranteeing that Brazilians have access to effective, safe, and cost-effective treatments. REBRATS' comprehensive and integrated approach strengthens HTA in Brazil and contributes to more informed and evidence-based health decisions.
In its fifth edition, the Meeting of REBRATS represents an important milestone in the history of HTA in Brazil. The event has become a key platform for presenting national scientific research, discussing public policies supported by HTA, and fostering collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals, and HTA enthusiasts.
With an innovative program, we expect the 5th Meeting of REBRATS will provide another valuable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and advancing our mission to improve public health.
